Joshua 8:1

Israel Conquers Ai

8:1 The Lord told Joshua, “Don’t be afraid and don’t panic! ¹  Take the whole army with you and march against Ai! ²  See, I am handing over to you ³  the king of Ai, along with his people, city, and land.

Joshua 10:25

10:25 Then Joshua said to them, “Don’t be afraid and don’t panic! ⁴  Be strong and brave, for the Lord will do the same thing to all your enemies you fight.

Joshua 20:6

20:6 He must remain ⁵  in that city until his case is decided by the assembly ⁶  and the high priest dies. ⁷  Then the one who committed manslaughter may return home to the city from which he escaped.” ⁸ 

Joshua 22:28

22:28 We said, ‘If in the future they say such a thing ⁹  to us or to our descendants, we will reply, “See the model of the Lord’s altar that our ancestors ¹⁰  made, not for burnt offerings or sacrifices, but as a reminder to us and you.”’ ¹¹

[8:1]  ³ tn Heb “I have given into our hand.” The verbal form, a perfect, is probably best understood as a perfect of certitude, indicating the certainty of the action.

[20:6]  ⁸ tn Heb “until he stands before the assembly for judgment.”

[20:6]  ⁹ tn Heb “until the death of the high priest who is in those days.”
