Joshua 9:24

9:24 They said to Joshua, “It was carefully reported to your subjects ¹  how the Lord your God commanded Moses his servant to assign you the whole land and to destroy all who live in the land from before you. Because of you we were terrified ²  we would lose our lives, so we did this thing.

Joshua 23:15

23:15 But in the same way every faithful promise the Lord your God made to you has been realized, ³  it is just as certain, if you disobey, that the Lord will bring on you every judgment ⁴  until he destroys you from this good land which the Lord your God gave you.

[9:24]  ² tn Or “we were very afraid.”

[23:15]  ³ tn Heb “and it will be as every good word which the Lord your God spoke to you has come to pass.”

[23:15]  ⁴ tn Heb “so the Lord will bring every injurious [or “evil”] word [or “thing”] upon you.”
