1:10 But these men do not understand the things they slander, and they are being destroyed by the very things that, like irrational animals, they instinctively comprehend. 1 

Nehemiah 9:27

9:27 Therefore you delivered them into the hand of their adversaries, who oppressed them. But in the time of their distress they called to you, and you heard from heaven. In your abundant compassion you provided them with deliverers to rescue them from 2  their adversaries.

[1:10]  1 tn Or “they should naturally comprehend.” The present tense in this context may have a conative force.

[9:27]  2 tn Heb “from the hand of” (so NASB, NIV); NAB “from the power of.”

[20:4]  3 tn Heb “will you judge.” Here the imperfect form of the verb is probably used with a desiderative nuance. Addressed to the prophet, “judge” means to warn of or pronounce God’s impending judgment.
