  Is thy heart athirst to know That the King of Heav’n and earth Deigns to dwell with man below, Yea, hath stoop’d to mortal birth? Search the Word with ceaseless care Till thou find this treasure there. With the sages from afar Journey on o’er sea and land, Till thou see the Morning Star O’er thy heart unchanging stand, Then shalt thou behold His face Full of mercy, truth, and grace. For if Christ be born within, Soon that likeness shall appear Which the heart had lost through sin, God’s own image fair and clear, And the soul serene and bright Mirrors back His heavenly light. Jesus, let me seek for nought But that Thou shouldst dwell in me Let this only fill my thought, How I may grow more like Thee, Through this earthly care and strife, Through the calm eternal life. Deuteronomy 30:1-3

• [Deu 30:2] Weary Of Wandering From My God

  Weary of wandering from my God, And now made willing to return I hear and bow me to the rod For thee, not without hope, I mourn: I have an Advocate above A Friend before the throne of love. O Jesus, full of truth and grace More full of grace than I of sin Yet once again I seek Thy face: Open Thine arms and take me in And freely my backslidings heal And love the faithless sinner still. Thou know’st the way to bring me back My fallen spirit to restore O for Thy truth and mercy’s sake, Forgive, and bid me sin no more: The ruins of my soul repair And make my heart a house of prayer. The stone to flesh again convert, The veil of sin again remove; Sprinkle Thy blood upon my heart, And melt it by Thy dying love; This rebel heart by love subdue, And make it soft, and make it new. Give to mine eyes refreshing tears, And kindle my relentings now; Fill my whole soul with filial fears, To Thy sweet yoke my spirit bow; Bend by Thy grace, O bend or break, The iron sinew in my neck! Ah! give me, Lord, the tender heart That trembles at the approach of sin; A godly fear of sin impart, Implant, and root it deep within, That I may dread Thy gracious power, And never dare to offend Thee more.

Daniel 9:2-3

• [Dan 9:3] Now Is The Healing Time Decreed

  Now is the healing time decreed For sins of heart, of word or deed, When we in humble fear record The wrong that we have done the Lord. Who, always merciful and good, Has borne so long our wayward mood, Nor cut us off unsparingly In our so great iniquity. Therefore with fasting and with prayer, Our secret sorrow we declare; With all good striving seek His face, And lowly hearted plead for grace. Cleanse us, O Lord, from every stain, Help us the meed of praise to gain, Till with the angels linked in love Joyful we tread Thy courts above. Father and Son and Spirit blest, To Thee be every prayer addrest, Who art in threefold Name adored, From age to age, the only Lord.
