Leviticus 12:5
Context12:5 If she bears a female child, she will be impure fourteen days as during her menstrual flow, and she will remain sixty-six days in 1 blood purity. 2
Leviticus 23:3
ContextThe Weekly Sabbath
23:3 “‘Six days work may be done, but on the seventh day there must be a Sabbath of complete rest, 3 a holy assembly. You must not do any work; it is a Sabbath to the Lord in all the places where you live.

[12:5] 1 tn Heb “on purity blood.” The preposition here is עַל (’al) rather than בְּ (bÿ, as it is in the middle of v. 4), but no doubt the same meaning is intended.
[12:5] 2 tn For clarification of the translation here, see the notes on vv. 2-4 above.
[23:3] 3 tn This is a superlative expression, emphasizing the full and all inclusive rest of the Sabbath and certain festival times throughout the chapter (see B. A. Levine, Leviticus [JPSTC], 155). Cf. ASV “a sabbath of solemn rest.”
