[17:8]  1 tn Heb “Man, man.” The repetition of the word “man” is distributive, meaning “any [or “every”] man” (GKC 395-96 §123.c; cf. Lev 15:2).

[17:8]  2 tn Heb “and.” Here the Hebrew conjunction ו (vav, “and”) has an alternative sense (“or”).

[17:8]  3 tn Heb “from the sojourner who sojourns.”

[17:8]  4 tc The LXX, Syriac, and Vulgate have “your” (plural) rather than “their.”

[17:8]  5 tn Heb “causes to go up.”

[19:19]  6 tn Heb “Your animals, you shall not cross-breed two different kinds.”

[19:19]  7 tn Heb “you shall not cause to go up on you.”

[19:19]  8 sn Cf. Deut 22:11 where the Hebrew term translated “two different kinds” (כִּלְאַיִם, kilayim) refers to a mixture of linen and wool woven together in a garment.
