[6:17]  1 tn Heb “It must not be baked leavened” (cf. Lev 2:11). The noun “leaven” is traditional in English versions (cf. KJV, ASV, NASB, NRSV), but “yeast” is more commonly used today.

[6:17]  2 tn Heb “holiness of holinesses [or holy of holies] it is”; cf. NAB “most sacred.”

[7:9]  3 tn Heb “and” rather than “or” (cf. also the next “or”).

[7:9]  4 tn Heb “and all made in the pan”; cf. KJV “fryingpan”; NAB “deep-fried in a pot.”

[23:17]  5 tc Smr, LXX, Syriac, Tg. Onq., and Tg. Ps.-J. insert the word חַלּוֹת (khallot, “loaves”; cf. Lev 2:4 and the note there). Even though “loaves” is not explicit in the MT, the number “two” suggests that these are discrete units, not just a measure of flour, so “loaves” should be assumed even in the MT.

[23:17]  6 tn Heb “with leaven.” The noun “leaven” is traditional in English versions (cf. KJV, ASV, NASB, NRSV), but “yeast” is more commonly used today.

[26:26]  7 tn Heb “When I break to you staff of bread” (KJV, ASV, and NASB all similar).

[26:26]  8 tn Heb “they will return your bread in weight.”
