7:17 but the leftovers from the meat of the sacrifice must be burned up in the fire ¹  on the third day.

Leviticus 19:7

19:7 If, however, it is eaten ²  on the third day, it is spoiled, ³  it will not be accepted,

[7:17]  ¹ tn Heb “burned with fire,” an expression which is sometimes redundant in English, but here means “burned up,” “burned up entirely” (likewise in v. 19).

[19:7]  ² tn Heb “And if being eaten [infinitive absolute] it is eaten [finite verb].” For the infinitive absolute used to highlight contrast rather than emphasis see GKC 343 §113.p.
