[1:74]  ² tn This phrase in Greek is actually thrown forward to the front of the verse to give it emphasis.

[5:28]  ³ sn On the phrase leaving everything see Luke 5:10-11; 14:33.

[5:28]  ⁴ tn The participial phrase “leaving everything behind” occurs at the beginning of the sentence, but has been transposed to the end in the translation for logical reasons, since it serves to summarize Levi’s actions.

[11:12]  ⁵ sn The two questions of vv. 11-12 expect the answer, “No father would do this!”

[19:25]  ⁷ tn Here καί (kai) has been translated as “but” to indicate the contrast present in this context. Those watching the evaluation are shocked, as the one with the most gets even more. The word “already” is supplied at the end of the statement to indicate this surprise and shock.

[19:25]  ⁸ tc A few mss (D W 69 pc and a few versional witnesses) omit this verse either to harmonize it with Matt 25:28-29 or to keep the king’s speech seamless.

[22:5]  ⁹ tn Here καί (kai) has not been translated because of differences between Greek and English style.

[22:5]  ¹⁰ sn The leaders were delighted when Judas contacted them about betraying Jesus, because it gave them the opportunity they had been looking for, and they could later claim that Jesus had been betrayed by one of his own disciples.

[22:5]  ¹¹ sn Matt 26:15 states the amount of money they gave Judas was thirty pieces of silver (see also Matt 27:3-4; Zech 11:12-13).

[24:42]  ¹¹ tn Here δέ (de) has been translated as “so” to indicate the implied result of Jesus’ request for food.
