17:29 but on the day Lot went out from Sodom, fire and sulfur rained down from heaven and destroyed them all. ¹

7:44 Then, ²  turning toward the woman, he said to Simon, “Do you see this woman? I entered your house. You gave me no water for my feet, ³  but she has wet my feet with her tears and wiped them with her hair.

[17:29]  ¹ sn And destroyed them all. The coming of the Son of Man will be like the judgment on Sodom, one of the most immoral places of the OT (Gen 19:16-17; Deut 32:32-33; Isa 1:10).

[7:44]  ² tn Here καί (kai) has been translated as “then” to indicate the implied sequence of events within the narrative.

[7:44]  ³ sn It is discussed whether these acts in vv. 44-46 were required by the host. Most think they were not, but this makes the woman’s acts of respect all the more amazing.
