2:31 that you have prepared in the presence of all peoples: ¹

12:42 The Lord replied, ²  “Who then is the faithful and wise manager, ³  whom the master puts in charge of his household servants, ⁴  to give them their allowance of food at the proper time?

[2:31]  ¹ sn Is the phrase all peoples a reference to Israel alone, or to both Israel and the Gentiles? The following verse makes it clear that all peoples includes Gentiles, another key Lukan emphasis (Luke 24:47; Acts 10:34-43).

[12:42]  ² tn Grk “And the Lord said.” Here καί (kai) has not been translated because of differences between Greek and English style.

[12:42]  ⁴ tn This term, θεραπεία (qerapeia), describes the group of servants working in a particular household (L&N 46.6).
