[2:47]  1 tn Grk “him”; the referent (Jesus) has been specified in the translation for clarity.

[2:47]  2 sn There was wonder (all who heard…were astonished) that Jesus at such a young age could engage in such a discussion. The fact that this story is told of a preteen hints that Jesus was someone special.

[24:22]  3 sn The account in 24:1-12 is repeated here, and it is clear that the other disciples were not convinced by the women, but could not explain the events either.

[24:22]  4 tn In the Greek text this is a continuation of the previous sentence, but because of the length and complexity of the construction a new sentence was started here in the translation.

[8:56]  5 tn Grk “And her.” Here καί (kai) has not been translated because of differences between Greek and English style.
