2:47 And all who heard Jesus ¹  were astonished ²  at his understanding and his answers.

[2:47]  ² sn There was wonder (all who heard…were astonished) that Jesus at such a young age could engage in such a discussion. The fact that this story is told of a preteen hints that Jesus was someone special.

[4:28]  ³ tn The words “the people” are not in the Greek text but have been supplied.

[11:28]  ⁵ tn Grk “said.”

[11:28]  ⁶ sn This is another reference to hearing and doing the word of God, which here describes Jesus’ teaching; see Luke 8:21.
