2:50 Yet ¹  his parents ²  did not understand ³  the remark ⁴  he made ⁵  to them.

24:45 Then he opened their minds so they could understand the scriptures, ⁶

[2:50]  ² tn Grk “they”; the referent (his parents) has been specified in the translation for clarity.

[2:50]  ³ sn This was the first of many times those around Jesus did not understand what he was saying at the time (9:45; 10:21-24; 18:34).

[24:45]  ⁶ sn Luke does not mention specific texts here, but it is likely that many of the scriptures he mentioned elsewhere in Luke-Acts would have been among those he had in mind.
