2:52 And Jesus increased ¹  in wisdom and in stature, and in favor with God and with people.

Luke 17:9

17:9 He won’t thank the slave because he did what he was told, ²  will he? ³ 

[2:52]  ¹ tn Or “kept increasing.” The imperfect tense suggests something of a progressive force to the verb.

[17:9]  ² tn Grk “did what was commanded.”

[17:9]  ³ tn The Greek construction anticipates a negative reply which is indicated in the translation by the ‘tag’ at the end, “will he?” Thanks are not required.
