Luke 21:15

21:15 For I will give you the words ¹  along with the wisdom ²  that none of your adversaries will be able to withstand or contradict.

Luke 13:17

13:17 When ³  he said this all his adversaries were humiliated, ⁴  but ⁵  the entire crowd was rejoicing at all the wonderful things ⁶  he was doing. ⁷ 

[21:15]  ¹ tn Grk “a mouth.” It is a metonymy and refers to the reply the Lord will give to them.

[21:15]  ² tn Grk “and wisdom.”

[13:17]  ³ tn Grk “And when.” Here καί (kai) has not been translated because of differences between Greek and English style.

[13:17]  ⁴ tn Or “were put to shame.”

[13:17]  ⁵ tn Here καί (kai) has been translated as “but” to indicate the contrast present in this context.
