21:23 Woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing their babies in those days! For there will be great distress 1  on the earth and wrath against this people.

[21:23]  1 sn Great distress means that this is a period of great judgment.

[24:18]  2 tn Grk “answering him, said.” This is redundant in English and has been simplified in the translation.

[24:18]  3 sn There is irony and almost a sense of mocking disbelief as the question “Are you the only visitor to Jerusalem who doesn’t know the things that have happened there in these days?” comes to Jesus; but, of course, the readers know what the travelers do not.

[24:18]  4 tn Grk “in it” (referring to the city of Jerusalem).
