Luke 4:3

4:3 The devil said to him, “If ¹  you are the Son of God, command this stone to become bread.” ² 

Luke 21:6

21:6 “As for these things that you are gazing at, the days will come when not one stone will be left on another. ³  All will be torn down!” ⁴ 

[4:3]  ¹ tn This is a first class condition: “If (and let’s assume that you are) the Son of God…”

[4:3]  ² tn Grk “say to this stone that it should become bread.”

[21:6]  ³ sn With the statement days will come when not one stone will be left on another Jesus predicted the total destruction of the temple, something that did occur in a.d. 70.

[21:6]  ⁴ tn Grk “the days will come when not one stone will be left on another that will not be thrown down.”
