8:11 “Now the parable means ¹  this: The seed is the word of God.

Luke 14:11

14:11 For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but ²  the one who humbles ³  himself will be exalted.”

Luke 18:6

18:6 And the Lord said, “Listen to what the unrighteous judge says! ⁴

[14:11]  ² tn Here καί (kai) has been translated as “but” to indicate the contrast present in this context, which involves the reversal of expected roles.
