Luke 8:52-53

8:52 Now they were all ¹  wailing and mourning ²  for her, but he said, “Stop your weeping; she is not dead but asleep.” 8:53 And they began making fun ³  of him, because they knew ⁴  that she was dead. ⁵

[8:53]  ³ tn This imperfect verb has been translated as an ingressive imperfect.

[8:53]  ⁴ tn The participle εἰδότες (eidotes) has been translated as a causal adverbial participle.

[8:53]  ⁵ tn Or “had died.”
