The Plan to Betray Jesus

14:10 Then ¹  Judas Iscariot, one of the twelve, went to the chief priests to betray Jesus into their hands. ²

14:18 While they were at the table ³  eating, Jesus said, “I tell you the truth, ⁴  one of you eating with me will betray me.” ⁵ 

[14:10]  ¹ tn Here καί (kai) has been translated as “then” to indicate the implied sequence of events within the narrative.

[14:10]  ² tn Grk “betray him to them”; the referent (Jesus) has been specified in the translation for clarity.

[14:18]  ³ tn Grk “while they were reclined at the table.”

[14:18]  ⁴ tn Grk “Truly (ἀμήν, amhn), I say to you.”
