Mark 6:29

6:29 When John’s ¹  disciples heard this, they came and took his body and placed it in a tomb.

Mark 16:6

16:6 But he said to them, “Do not be alarmed. You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who was crucified. ²  He has been raised! ³  He is not here. Look, there is the place where they laid him.

[6:29]  ¹ tn Grk “his”; the referent (John the Baptist) has been specified in the translation for clarity.

[16:6]  ³ tn The verb here is passive (ἠγέρθη, hgerqh). This “divine passive” (see ExSyn 437-38) points to the fact that Jesus was raised by God.
