[7:36]  1 tn Grk “but as much as he ordered them, these rather so much more proclaimed.” Greek tends to omit direct objects when they are clear from the context, but these usually need to be supplied for the modern English reader. Here what Jesus ordered has been clarified (“ordered them not to do this”), and the pronoun “it” has been supplied after “proclaimed.”

[5:43]  2 sn That no one should know about this. See the note on the phrase who he was in 3:12.

[8:15]  3 tn Grk “he”; the referent (Jesus) has been specified in the translation for clarity.

[8:15]  4 tn Grk “was giving them orders, saying.” The participle λέγων (legwn) is redundant in English and has not been translated.

[8:15]  5 sn See the note on Pharisees in 2:16.
