22:29 Jesus ¹  answered them, “You are deceived, ²  because you don’t know the scriptures or the power of God.

Matthew 26:56

26:56 But this has happened so that ³  the scriptures of the prophets would be fulfilled.” Then all the disciples left him and fled.

[22:29]  ¹ tn Grk “And answering, Jesus said to them.” This is somewhat redundant and has been simplified in the translation.

[22:29]  ² tn Or “mistaken” (cf. BDAG 822 s.v. πλανάω 2.c.γ).

[26:56]  ³ tn Grk “But so that”; the verb “has happened” is implied.
