[24:16]  ¹ sn Fleeing to the mountains is a key OT image: Gen 19:17; Judg 6:2; Isa 15:5; Jer 16:16; Zech 14:5.

[18:12]  ² tn Grk “a certain man.” The Greek word ἄνθρωπος (anqrwpo") is used here in a somewhat generic sense.

[18:12]  ³ sn This individual with a hundred sheep is a shepherd of modest means, as flocks often had up to two hundred head of sheep.
