Micah 4:11

Context

4:11 Many nations have now assembled against you.

They say, “Jerusalem must be desecrated, 1 

so we can gloat over Zion!” 2 

Micah 7:16

Context

7:16 Nations will see this and be disappointed by 3  all their strength,

they will put their hands over their mouths,

and act as if they were deaf. 4 

Micah 4:2

Context

4:2 Many nations will come, saying,

“Come on! Let’s go up to the Lord’s mountain,

to the temple 5  of Jacob’s God,

so he can teach us his commands 6 

and we can live by his laws.” 7 

For Zion will be the source of instruction;

the Lord’s teachings will proceed from Jerusalem. 8

[4:11]  1 tn Heb “let her be desecrated.” the referent (Jerusalem) has been specified in the translation for clarity.

[4:11]  2 tn Heb “and let our eye look upon Zion.”
