Matthew 25:31-36

Context
The Judgment

25:31 “When 1  the Son of Man comes in his glory and all the angels with him, then he will sit on his glorious throne. 25:32 All 2  the nations will be assembled before him, and he will separate people one from another like a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. 25:33 He 3  will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left. 25:34 Then the king will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. 25:35 For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 25:36 I was naked and you gave me clothing, I was sick and you took care of me, I was in prison and you visited me.’

Matthew 28:18

Context
28:18 Then Jesus came up and said to them, 4  “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.

John 5:25-29

Context
5:25 I tell you the solemn truth, 5  a time 6  is coming – and is now here – when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and those who hear will live. 5:26 For just as the Father has life in himself, thus he has granted the Son to have life in himself, 5:27 and he has granted the Son 7  authority to execute judgment, 8  because he is the Son of Man.

5:28 “Do not be amazed at this, because a time 9  is coming when all who are in the tombs will hear his voice 5:29 and will come out – the ones who have done what is good to the resurrection resulting in life, and the ones who have done what is evil to the resurrection resulting in condemnation. 10

Hebrews 2:5

Context
Exposition of Psalm 8: Jesus and the Destiny of Humanity

2:5 For he did not put the world to come, 11  about which we are speaking, 12  under the control of angels.

Revelation 20:10-15

Context
20:10 And the devil who deceived 13  them was thrown into the lake of fire and sulfur, 14  where the beast and the false prophet are 15  too, and they will be tormented there day and night forever and ever.

The Great White Throne

20:11 Then 16  I saw a large 17  white throne and the one who was seated on it; the earth and the heaven 18  fled 19  from his presence, and no place was found for them. 20:12 And I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne. Then 20  books were opened, and another book was opened – the book of life. 21  So 22  the dead were judged by what was written in the books, according to their deeds. 23  20:13 The 24  sea gave up the dead that were in it, and Death 25  and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and each one was judged according to his deeds. 20:14 Then 26  Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death – the lake of fire. 20:15 If 27  anyone’s name 28  was not found written in the book of life, that person 29  was thrown into the lake of fire.
