[2:10] 1 tn Heb “servant” (so KJV, ASV; NAB “slave”; NCV “officer.” This phrase also occurs in v. 19.
[7:7] 2 tn Heb “the men of the people of Israel.” Some English versions translate as “the people from Israel” (NCV) or “the Israelite people” (NRSV), but “men” should be retained because the following numbers presumably include only adult males.
[8:14] 3 tn Heb “by the hand of.”
[13:2] 4 tn Heb “bread.” The Hebrew term is generic here, however, referring to more than bread alone.
