10:12 So the Israelites set out 1  on their journeys from the wilderness of Sinai; and the cloud settled in the wilderness of Paran.

[10:12]  1 sn The verb is the same as the noun: “they journeyed on their journeyings.” This underscores the point of their continual traveling.

[20:18]  2 tn The imperfect tense here has the nuance of prohibition.

[20:18]  3 tn Heb “to meet.”

[23:22]  3 tn The form is the Hiphil participle from יָצַא (yatsa’) with the object suffix. He is the one who brought them out.

[23:22]  4 sn The expression is “the horns of the wild ox” (KJV “unicorn”). The point of the image is strength or power. Horns are also used in the Bible to represent kingship (see Pss 89 and 132).
