27:16 “Let the Lord, the God of the spirits of all humankind,⁴ appoint⁵ a man over the community,

[10:21] ¹tn Heb “carrying the sanctuary,” a metonymy of whole for parts, representing all the holy objects that were located in the sanctuary.

[10:21] ²tn The verb is the third person plural form; without an expressed subject it is treated as a passive.

[10:21] ³tn Heb “against their coming.”

[27:16] ⁴tn Heb “flesh”; cf. NAB, NIV “all mankind”; NCV “all people”; NLT “all living things.”

[27:16] ⁵tn This is the same verb פָּקַד (paqad) that is used throughout the book for the aspect of “numbering” the people.
