[14:45]  1 tn Heb “came down.”

[14:45]  2 tn The verb used here means “crush by beating,” or “pounded” them. The Greek text used “cut them in pieces.”

[14:45]  3 tn The name “Hormah” means “destruction”; it is from the word that means “ban, devote” for either destruction or temple use.

[13:18]  4 tn The form is the perfect tense with vav (ו) consecutive; the word therefore carries the volitional mood of the preceding imperatives. It may be either another imperative, or it may be subordinated as a purpose clause.

[13:18]  5 tn Heb “see the land, what it is.”
