[2:14]  1 tn The Hebrew text simply has “and the tribe of Gad.”

[2:14]  2 tc The Leningrad codex, upon which BHS is based, has “Reuel” here. In reading “Deuel” the translation presented above follows many medieval Hebrew manuscripts, Smr, and the Latin Vulgate. Cf. Num 1:14.

[2:22]  3 tn Here too the Hebrew text simply has “and the tribe of Benjamin.”

[3:15]  5 tn Heb “the house of their fathers.” So also in v. 20.

[3:15]  6 tn Heb “you are to/shall number them.”

[32:6]  7 tn The vav (ו) is a vav disjunctive prefixed to the pronoun; it fits best here as a circumstantial clause, “while you stay here.”

[32:31]  9 tn Heb “that which the Lord has spoken to your servants, thus we will do.”
