2:17 “Then the tent of meeting with the camp of the Levites will travel in the middle of the camps. They will travel in the same order as they camped, each in his own place 1  under his standard.

Numbers 9:21

9:21 And when 2  the cloud remained only 3  from evening until morning, when the cloud was taken up 4  the following morning, then they traveled on. Whether by day or by night, when the cloud was taken up they traveled.

Numbers 10:33

10:33 So they traveled from the mountain of the Lord three days’ journey; 5  and the ark of the covenant of the Lord was traveling before them during the three days’ journey, to find a resting place for them.

[2:17]  1 tn The Hebrew expression is עַל־יָדוֹ (’al-yado, “upon his hand”). This clearly refers to a specifically designated place for each man.

[9:21]  2 tn The construction is the same in the preceding verse.

[9:21]  3 tn “Only” is supplied to reflect the contrast between the two verses.

[9:21]  4 tn The construction in this half of the verse uses two vav (ו) consecutive clauses. The first is subordinated to the second as a temporal clause: “when…then….”

[10:33]  3 tn The phrase “a journey of three days” is made up of the adverbial accusative qualified with the genitives.
