  God of the nations, who from dawn of days, Hast led Thy people in their widening ways, Through Whose deep purpose stranger thousands stand Here in the borders of our promised land. Thine ancient might rebuked the Pharaoh’s boast Thou wast the shield for Israel’s marching host, And, all the ages through, past crumbling throne And broken fetter, Thou hast brought Thine own. Thy hand has led across the hungry sea The eager peoples flocking to be free, And, from the breeds of earth, Thy silent sway Fashions the nation of the broadening day. Again refresh us, Lord, with Thy reviving love, And be Thy blessing poured in mercy from above; By grace revive our hearts again, As streams refreshed by copious rain. Although with bitter tears the sower bears his seed, When harvest time appears he shall be glad indeed; For they that in the sowing weep Shall yet in joy and gladness reap.

  Come, all ye sons of God, who have received the priesthood, Go spread the Gospel wide, and gather in His people, The latter day work has begun, to gather scattered Israel in And bring them back to Zion to praise the Lamb. Come, all ye scattered sheep, and listen to your Shepherd, While you the blessing reap, which long have been predicted; By prophets long it’s been foretold He’ll gather you into His fold And bring you home to Zion to praise the Lamb. Repent and be baptized, and have your sins remitted, And get the Spirit’s zeal; O then you’ll be united; Go cast upon Him all your cares; He will regard your humble prayer And bring you home to Zion to praise the Lamb. And when your grief is o’er and ended your affliction, Your spirits then will soar to await the resurrection; And then His presence you’ll enjoy, in heavenly bliss your time employ, A thousand years in Zion to praise the Lamb.

  New every morning is the love Our wakening and uprising prove; Through sleep and darkness safely brought, Restored to life and power and thought. New mercies, each returning day, Hover around us while we pray; New perils past, new sins forgiven, New thoughts of God, new hopes of heaven.   Thou, the Christ forever one, Mary’s Child and Israel’s God, Daniel’s Prince and David’s Son, Jacob’s Star and Jesse’s Rod, Thou of Whom of the prophets spake, Thou in Whom their words came true, Hear the pleading prayer we make, Hear the Gentile for the Jew! Knowing what the Spirit saith, Sure of Thee, our Christ divine, Lo, we stand, by right of faith, Heirs of Abraham’s chartered line; Can we then his sons forget, Branches severed from their tree, Exiles from their homes, and yet Kinsmen, Lord, in flesh to Thee?
