  1. Di larut malam yang gelap Sang Jurus'lamat yang resah, sendiri di kebun senyap berdoa pada BapaNya.
  2. Di larut malam yang senyap Almasih sangat takutlah, sedang muridNya terdekat tak tahu prihatin GuruNya.
  3. Di larut malam kemelut Penanggung dosa dunia penuh sengsara bertelut, bergumul dalam doaNya.
  4. Di larut malam yang ngeri malaikat Bapa datanglah, diutus untuk memberi kekuatan yang dipintaNya.

• [Psa 69:1] Save Me, O God

  Save me, O God, because the floods Come in upon my soul; I sink in depths where none can stand; Deep waters, o’er me roll. My constant calling wearies me, My throat is parched and dried, My eyes grow dim while for my God Still waiting I abide. O God, my folly and my sin Thy holy eye can see; Yet save from shame, Lord God of hosts, Thy saints that wait on Thee. Forbid, O God, our covenant God, That those who seek Thy face Should see Thy servant put to shame And share in my disgrace. It is for Thee I am reproached, For Thee I suffer shame, Until my brethren know me not, And hated is my name. It is my zeal for Thine abode That has consumed my life; Reproached by those reproaching Thee, I suffer in the strife. I wept, with fasting bowed my soul, Yet that was made my shame; When I in sackcloth clothed myself, Their byword I became. The men who sit within the gate With slander do me wrong, And they who linger at their cups Make me their jest and song.

• [Psa 69:1] Save Me, O God, The Swelling Floods

  Save me, O God, the swelling floods Break in upon my soul; I sink, and sorrows o’er my head Like mighty waters roll. I cry till all my voice be gone, In tears I waste the day: My God, behold my longing eyes, And shorten Thy delay. They hate my soul without a cause, And still their number grows More than the hairs around my head, And mighty are my foes. ’Twas then I paid that dreadful debt That men could never pay, And gave those honors to Thy law Which sinners took away. Thus in the great Messiah’s name, The royal prophet mourns; Thus he awakes our hearts to grief, And gives us joy by turns. Now shall the saints rejoice, and find Salvation in My Name; For I have borne their heavy load Of sorrow, pain, and shame. Grief, like a garment, clothed Me round, And sackcloth was My dress, While I procured for naked souls A robe of righteousness. Amongst My brethren and the Jews I like a stranger stood, And bore their vile reproach, to bring The Gentiles near to God. I came in sinful mortals’ stead, To do My Father’s will; Yet when I cleansed My Father’s house, They scandalized My zeal. My fasting and My holy groans Were made the drunkard’s song; But God, from His celestial throne, Heard My complaining tongue. He saved Me from the dreadful deep, Nor let My soul be drowned; He raised and fixed My sinking feet On well-established ground. ’Twas in a most accepted hour My prayer arose on high; And for My sake my God shall hear The dying sinner’s cry.

• [Psa 69:3] O God, Our Words Cannot Express

  O God, our words cannot express The pain we feel this day. Enraged, uncertain, we confess Our need to bow and pray. We grieve for all who lost their lives… And for each injured one. We pray for children, husbands, wives Whose grief has just begun. O Lord, we’re called to offer prayer For all our leaders, too. May they, amid such great despair, Be wise in all they do. We trust your mercy and your grace; In you we will not fear! May peace and justice now embrace! Be with your people here!

Luke 22:44

• [Luk 22:44] Sion’s Daughter, Weep No More

  Sion’s daughter, weep no more, Though thy troubled heart be sore; He of Whom the psalmist sung, He Who woke the prophet’s tongue, Christ, the Mediator blest, Brings thee everlasting rest. In a garden man became Heir of sin, and death, and shame; Jesus in a garden wins Life, and pardon for our sins; Through His hour of agony Praying in Gethsemane. There for us He intercedes; There with God the Father pleads; Willing there for us to drain To the dregs the cup of pain, That in everlasting day He may wipe our tears away. Therefore to His Name be giv’n, Glory both in earth and Heav’n; To the Father, and the Son, And the Spirit, Three in One, Honor, praise and glory be Now and through eternity.

Hebrews 5:7

• [Heb 5:7] Our Blessèd Savior Seven Times Spoke

  Our blessèd Savior sev’n times spoke When on the cross our sins He took And died lest men should perish. Let us His last and dying words In our remembrance cherish. “Father, forgive these men; for, lo, They truly know not what they do.” So far His love extended. Forgive us, Lord, for we, too, have Through ignorance offended. Now to the contrite thief He cries: “Thou, verily, in Paradise Shall meet Me ere tomorrow.” Lord, take us to Thy kingdom soon Who linger here in sorrow. To weeping Mary, standing by, “Behold thy Son,” now hear Him cry; To John, “Behold thy mother.” Provide, O Lord, for those we leave; Let each befriend the other. The Savior’s fourth word was “I thirst.” O mighty Prince of Life, Thy thirst For us and our salvation Is truly great; do help us, then, That we escape damnation. The fifth, “My God, My God, O why Forsake Me?” Hark, the awful cry! Lord, Thou wast here forsaken That we might be received on high; Let this hope not be shaken. The sixth, when victory was won, “’Tis finished!” for Thy work was done. Grant, Lord, that, onward pressing, We may the work Thou dost impose Fulfill with Thine own blessing. The last, as woe and sufferings end, “O God, My Father, I commend Into Thy hands My Spirit.” Be this, dear Lord, my dying wish; O heavenly Father, hear it. Whoe’er, by sense of sin oppressed, Upon these words his thoughts will rest, He joy and hope obtaineth And through God’s love and boundless grace A peaceful conscience gaineth. O Jesus Christ, Thou Crucified, Who hast for our offenses died, Grant that we e’er may ponder Thy wounds, Thy cross, Thy bitter death, Both here below and yonder.
