Psalms 72:19

72:19 His glorious name deserves praise ¹  forevermore!

May his majestic splendor ²  fill the whole earth!

Habakkuk 2:14

2:14 For recognition of the Lord’s sovereign majesty will fill the earth

just as the waters fill up the sea. ⁴ 

Matthew 6:10

6:10 may your kingdom come, ⁵ 

may your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

[72:19]  ² tn Or “glory.”

[72:19]  ³ tn Heb “surely and surely” (אָמֵן וְאָמֵן [’amen vÿ’amen], i.e., “Amen and amen”). This is probably a congregational response of agreement to the immediately preceding statement about the propriety of praising God.

[2:14]  ⁴ tn Heb “for the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, just as the waters cover over the sea.”

[6:10]  ⁵ sn Your kingdom come represents the hope for the full manifestation of God’s promised rule.
