102:20 in order to hear the painful cries of the prisoners,

and to set free those condemned to die, ¹ 

Psalms 68:6

68:6 God settles those who have been deserted in their own homes; ² 

he frees prisoners and grants them prosperity. ³

[102:20]  ¹ tn Heb “the sons of death.” The phrase “sons of death” (see also Ps 79:11) is idiomatic for those condemned to die.

[68:6]  ² tn Heb “God causes the solitary ones to dwell in a house.” The participle suggests this is what God typically does.
