[104:21]  1 sn The lions’ roaring is viewed as a request for food from God.

[17:12]  2 tn Here the psalmist switches to the singular pronoun; he views his enemies collectively, or singles out a representative of the group, perhaps its leader.

[17:12]  3 tn Heb “his likeness [is] like a lion.”

[17:12]  4 tn Heb “[that] longs to tear.”

[17:12]  5 tn Heb “sitting.”

[35:17]  3 tn Heb “O Lord, how long will you see?”

[35:17]  4 tn Heb “bring back, restore.”

[35:17]  5 tn Or “my life.”

[35:17]  6 tn Heb “my only one.” The psalmist may mean that his life is precious, or that he feels isolated and alone (see Ps 22:20). The verb “guard” is supplied in the translation, because the verb “rescue” is understood by ellipsis (see the previous line).

[91:13]  4 tn Heb “walk upon.”

[91:13]  5 tn Or perhaps “cobra” (see Ps 58:4).
