Psalms 109:19

109:19 May a curse attach itself to him, like a garment one puts on, ¹ 

or a belt ²  one wears continually!

Psalms 102:26

102:26 They will perish,

but you will endure. ³ 

They will wear out like a garment;

like clothes you will remove them and they will disappear. ⁴ 

[109:19]  ¹ tn Heb “may it be for him like a garment one puts on.”

[109:19]  ² tn The Hebrew noun מֵזַח (mezakh, “belt; waistband”) occurs only here in the OT. The form apparently occurs in Isa 23:10 as well, but an emendation is necessary there.

[102:26]  ³ tn Heb “stand.”

[102:26]  ⁴ tn The Hebrew verb חָלַף (khalaf) occurs twice in this line, once in the Hiphil (“you will remove them”) and once in the Qal (“they will disappear”). The repetition draws attention to the statement.
