Psalms 16:2

16:2 I say to the Lord, “You are the Lord,

my only source of well-being.” ¹ 

Psalms 21:3

21:3 For you bring him ²  rich ³  blessings; ⁴ 

you place a golden crown on his head.

[16:2]  ¹ tn Heb “my good [is] not beyond you.” For the use of the preposition עַל (’al) in the sense of “beyond,” see BDB 755 s.v. 2.

[21:3]  ² tn Or “meet him [with].”

[21:3]  ³ tn Heb “good.”

[21:3]  ⁴ sn You bring him rich blessings. The following context indicates that God’s “blessings” include deliverance/protection, vindication, sustained life, and a long, stable reign (see also Pss 3:8; 24:5).
