[19:1] 1 sn Psalm 19. The psalmist praises God for his self-revelation in the heavens and in the Mosaic law. The psalmist concludes with a prayer, asking the Lord to keep him from sinning and to approve of his thoughts and words.
[19:1] 2 sn God’s glory refers here to his royal majesty and power.
[19:1] 3 tn Heb “and the work of his hands the sky declares.” The participles emphasize the ongoing testimony of the heavens/sky.
[19:6] 4 tn Heb “from the end of the heavens [is] its going forth.”
[19:6] 5 tn Heb “and its circuit [is] to their ends.”
[19:6] 6 tn Heb “is hidden from.”
[57:5] 8 tn Heb “over all the earth [be] your splendor.” Though no verb appears, the tone of the statement is a prayer or wish. (Note the imperative form in the preceding line.)
[79:2] 10 tn Heb “[as] food for the birds of the sky.”
[148:1] 13 sn Psalm 148. The psalmist calls upon all creation to praise the Lord, for he is the creator and sovereign king of the world.
