Psalms 19:6

19:6 It emerges from the distant horizon, ¹ 

and goes from one end of the sky to the other; ² 

nothing can escape ³  its heat.

Psalms 61:2

61:2 From the most remote place on earth ⁴ 

I call out to you in my despair. ⁵ 

Lead me ⁶  up to an inaccessible rocky summit! ⁷ 

Psalms 135:7

135:7 He causes the clouds to arise from the end of the earth,

makes lightning bolts accompany the rain,

and brings the wind out of his storehouses.

[19:6]  ¹ tn Heb “from the end of the heavens [is] its going forth.”

[19:6]  ² tn Heb “and its circuit [is] to their ends.”

[19:6]  ³ tn Heb “is hidden from.”

[61:2]  ⁴ tn Heb “from the end of the earth.” This may indicate (1) the psalmist is exiled in a distant land, or (2) it may be hyperbolic (the psalmist feels alienated from God’s presence, as if he were in a distant land).

[61:2]  ⁵ tn Heb “while my heart faints.”

[61:2]  ⁶ tn The imperfect verbal form here expresses the psalmist’s wish or prayer.

[61:2]  ⁷ tn Heb “on to a rocky summit [that] is higher than I.”
