Psalms 2:10

2:10 So now, you kings, do what is wise; ¹ 

you rulers of the earth, submit to correction! ² 

Psalms 94:8

94:8 Take notice of this, ³  you ignorant people! ⁴ 

You fools, when will you ever understand?

[2:10]  ¹ sn The speaker here is either the psalmist or the Davidic king, who now addresses the rebellious kings.

[2:10]  ² tn The Niphal has here a tolerative nuance; the kings are urged to submit themselves to the advice being offered.

[94:8]  ³ tn Heb “understand.” The verb used in v. 7 is repeated here for rhetorical effect. The people referred to here claim God is ignorant of their actions, but the psalmist corrects their faulty viewpoint.

[94:8]  ⁴ tn Heb “[you] brutish among the people.”
