Psalms 25:3

25:3 Certainly none who rely on you will be humiliated.

Those who deal in treachery will be thwarted ¹  and humiliated.

Psalms 69:6

69:6 Let none who rely on you be disgraced because of me,

O sovereign Lord and king! ² 

Let none who seek you be ashamed because of me,

O God of Israel!

[25:3]  ¹ tn Heb “those who deal in treachery in vain.” The adverb רֵיקָם (reqam, “in vain”) probably refers to the failure (or futility) of their efforts. Another option is to understand it as meaning “without cause” (cf. NIV “without excuse”; NRSV “wantonly treacherous”).

[69:6]  ² tn Heb “O Master, Lord of hosts.” Both titles draw attention to God’s sovereign position.
