[28:9]  1 tn Or “bless.”

[28:9]  2 tn Heb “your inheritance.” The parallelism (note “your people”) indicates that Israel is in view.

[28:9]  3 tn Heb “shepherd them and lift them up.”

[28:9]  4 tn Or “forever.”

[47:4]  5 tn Heb “he chose for us our inheritance.” The prefixed verbal form is understood as a preterite (see “subdued” in v. 3).

[47:4]  6 tn Heb “the pride of.” The phrase is appositional to “our inheritance,” indicating that the land is here described as a source of pride to God’s people.

[47:4]  7 tn That is, Israel.

[47:4]  8 sn Jacob whom he loves. The Lord’s covenantal devotion to his people is in view.

[101:5]  9 tn Heb “[one who has] pride of eyes and wideness [i.e., arrogance] of heart, him I will not endure.”

[102:14]  13 tn Or “for.”

[102:14]  14 tn The Poel of חָנַן (khanan) occurs only here and in Prov 14:21, where it refers to having compassion on the poor.

[102:14]  15 tn Heb “her dust,” probably referring to the dust of the city’s rubble.

[102:15]  17 tn Heb “will fear the name of the Lord.” To “fear” God’s name means to have a healthy respect for his revealed reputation which in turn motivates one to obey God’s commands (see Ps 86:11).

[102:15]  18 tn The verb “will fear” is understood by ellipsis in the second line (see the preceding line).

[103:1]  21 sn Psalm 103. The psalmist praises God for his mercy and willingness to forgive his people.

[115:12]  27 tn Heb “house.”

[116:8]  29 tn Or “for.”

[116:8]  30 tnLord” is supplied here in the translation for clarification.
