Psalms 3:2

3:2 Many say about me,

“God will not deliver him.” ¹  (Selah) ² 

Psalms 44:8

44:8 In God I boast all day long,

and we will continually give thanks to your name. (Selah)

Psalms 56:11

56:11 in God I trust, I am not afraid.

What can mere men ³  do to me? ⁴ 

Psalms 62:7

62:7 God delivers me and exalts me;

God is my strong protector and my shelter. ⁵ 

Psalms 78:7

78:7 Then they will place their confidence in God.

They will not forget the works of God,

[3:2]  ² sn The function of the Hebrew term סֶלָה (selah), transliterated here “Selah,” is uncertain. It may be a musical direction of some kind.

[56:11]  ³ tn The statement is similar to that of v. 4, except “flesh” is used there instead of “man.”

[56:11]  ⁴ tn The rhetorical question assumes the answer, “Nothing!” The imperfect is used in a modal sense here, indicating capability or potential.

[62:7]  ⁵ tn Heb “upon God [is] my deliverance and my glory, the high rocky summit of my strength, my shelter [is] in God.”

[78:7]  ⁷ tn Heb “keep.”
