32:3 When I refused to confess my sin, ¹ 

my whole body wasted away, ²

[32:3]  ¹ tn Heb “when I was silent.”

[32:3]  ² tn Heb “my bones became brittle.” The psalmist pictures himself as aging and growing physically weak. Trying to cover up his sin brought severe physical consequences.

[44:15]  ³ tn Heb “all the day my humiliation [is] in front of me.”

[44:15]  ⁴ tn Heb “and the shame of my face covers me.”

[86:3]  ⁵ tn Or “show me favor.”

[102:8]  ¹¹ tn Heb “by me they swear.” When the psalmist’s enemies call judgment down on others, they hold the psalmist up as a prime example of what they desire their enemies to become.

[118:24]  ¹³ tn Heb “this is the day the Lord has made.” Though sometimes applied in a general way, this statement in its context refers to the day of deliverance which the psalmist and people celebrate.
