Psalms 33:10

33:10 The Lord frustrates ¹  the decisions of the nations;

he nullifies the plans ²  of the peoples.

Psalms 89:33

89:33 But I will not remove ³  my loyal love from him,

nor be unfaithful to my promise. ⁴ 

[33:10]  ¹ tn Heb “breaks” or “destroys.” The Hebrew perfect verbal forms here and in the next line generalize about the Lord’s activity.

[33:10]  ² tn Heb “thoughts.”

[89:33]  ³ tn Heb “break”; “make ineffectual.” Some prefer to emend אָפִיר (’afir; the Hiphil of פָּרַר, parar, “to break”) to אָסִיר (’asir; the Hiphil of סוּר, sur, “to turn aside”), a verb that appears in 2 Sam 7:15.
