  Bring many names, beautiful and good, Celebrate, in parable and story, Holiness in glory, living, loving God. Hail and Hosanna! Bring many names! Strong mother God, working night and day, Planning all the wonders of creation, Setting each equation, genius at play: Hail and Hosanna, strong mother God! Warm father God, hugging every child, Feeling all the strains of human living, Caring and forgiving, till we’re reconciled: Hail and Hosanna, warm father God! Old, aching God, grey with endless care, Calmly piercing evil’s new disguises, Glad of good surprises, wiser than despair: Hail and Hosanna, old, aching God! Young, growing God, eager, on the move, Saying no to falsehood and unkindness, Crying out for justice, giving all you have: Hail and Hosanna, young, growing God! Great, living God, never fully known, Joyful darkness far beyond our seeing, Closer yet than breathing, everlasting home: Hail and Hosanna, great, living God!

  O magnify the Lord with me, All ye that bear His Name; His faithfulness and sovereignty Forever are the same. He is the soul’s unfailing spring, Its full orbed summer noon; The autumn of its harvesting, Its winter’s restful boon. All times and seasons of the soul, Revolve His will around; The universe itself pays toll To make its life abound. So is its life secure and free Because He leads the way; At length it shares eternally With God His perfect day. O sing with me, both young and old, Of His unchanging ways; And let his goodness manifold Forever be our praise.

• [Psa 34:3] Through All The Changing Scenes Of Life

  Through all the changing scenes of life, In trouble and in joy, The praises of my God shall still My heart and tongue employ. Of His deliverance I will boast, Till all that are distressed From my example courage take And soothe their griefs to rest. O magnify the Lord with me, With me exalt His Name; When in distress to Him I called, He to my rescue came. Their drooping hearts were soon refreshed, Who looked to Him for aid; Desired success in every face, A cheerful air displayed. “Behold,” they say, “Behold the man Whom providence relieved; The man so dangerously beset, So wondrously retrieved!” The hosts of God encamp around The dwellings of the just; Deliverance He affords to all Who on His succor trust. O make but trial of His love; Experience will decide How blest are they, and only they, Who in His truth confide. Fear Him, ye saints, and you will then Have nothing else to fear; Make you His service your delight; Your wants shall be His care. While hungry lions lack their prey, The Lord will food provide For such as put their trust in Him, And see their needs supplied.
