[Psa 34:4] Give To The Winds Thy Fears
Give to the winds thy fears,
Hope and be undismayed.
God hears thy sighs and counts thy tears,
God shall lift up thy head.Through waves and clouds and storms,
He gently clears thy way;
Wait thou His time; so shall this night
Soon end in joyous day.Still heavy is thy heart?
Still sinks thy spirit down?
Cast off the world, let fear depart
Bid every care begone.What though Thou rulest not;
Yet heaven, and earth, and hell
Proclaim, God sitteth on the throne,
And ruleth all things well.And whatsoe’er Thou will’st,
Thou dost, O King of kings;
What Thine unerring wisdom chose,
Thy power to being brings.Leave to His sovereign sway
To choose and to command;
So shalt thou, wondering, own that way,
How wise, how strong this hand.Far, far above thy thought,
His counsel shall appear,
When fully He the work hath wrought,
That caused thy needless fear.Thou seest our weakness, Lord;
Our hearts are known to Thee;
O lift Thou up the sinking hand,
Confirm the feeble knee!Let us in life, in death,
Thy steadfast truth declare,
And publish with our latest breath
Thy love and guardian care.Play source: Cyberhymnal -
[Psa 34:4] Thy Way And All Thy Sorrows
Thy way and all thy sorrows,
Give thou into His hand,
His gracious care unfailing,
Who doth the heav’ns command.
Their course and path He giveth
To clouds and air and wind;
A way thy feet may follow,
He too for thee will find.On Him be Thy reliance,
As thou wouldst prosper well;
To make thy work enduring
Thy mind on His must dwell.
God yieldeth naught to sorrow
And self tormenting care;
Naught, naught with him availeth;
No power save that of prayer.Leave all to His direction;
In wisdom He doth reign;
Thy wonder far exceeding,
His will His course maintain;
So He as Him beseemeth,
With wonderworking skill,
Shall put away the sorrows
That now thy spirit fill.Give, Lord, the consummation
To all our hearts’ distress;
Our hands, our feet, O strengthen;
In death our spirits bless.
Thy truth and Thy protection
For evermore we pray:
With these in heav’nly glory
Shall end our certain way.Play source: Cyberhymnal -
[Psa 34:8] How You Will Love Him!
Ye who wander, of sin grown weary,
Lonely and far from the safe home-fold,
Come and learn what the love of Christ is,
Love whose gladness can ne’er be told.Refrain
O, how you’ll love Him when you know Him!
Know the Christ Who died to set you free;
On Calv’ry’s cross His heart was broken,
Broken there for you, for me!Come, and coming, find peace and pardon
Waiting for you at the place of prayer;
Kneel and ask for a soul forgiven,
Christ is yearning to meet you there.Refrain
You should know of this love so tender,
Love that is steadfast, and deep, and true;
Come and share in its sweetness with me,
Come, and find that my Christ loves you.Refrain
Come, and find that you cannot fathom
Love like Christ’s till you taste and see;
Height and depths of the love of Jesus
No man knows till it sets Him free.Refrain

[Psa 34:11] Come, Children, Learn To Fear The Lord
Come, children, learn to fear the Lord
And that your days be long,
Let not a false or spiteful word
Be found upon your tongue.Depart from mischief, practice love,
Pursue the works of peace;
So shall the Lord your ways approve,
And set your souls at ease.His eyes awake to guard the just,
His ears attend their cry;
When broken spirits dwell in dust,
The God of grace is nigh.What though the sorrows here they taste
Are sharp and tedious too,
The Lord, who saves them all at last,
Is their supporter now.Evil shall smite the wicked dead;
But God secures His own,
Prevents the mischief when they slide,
Or heals the broken bone.When desolation, like a flood,
O’er the proud sinner rolls,
Saints find a refuge in their God,
For He redeemed their souls.Play source: Cyberhymnal -
[Psa 34:11] Tried And True
We are a band of merry children,
Full of glee, full of glee,
Like the springtime in its beauty,
Glad are we, glad are we;
Bright is the busy world around us,
Bright with flowers, bright with flowers,
Smiles from the sunny vale above us,
Come with the hours, come with the hours.Refrain
We are a band of merry, merry children,
While to the Sunday school we cling,
We are a band of merry, merry children,
Tried and true, tried and true.Happy am I, the bird is singing,
Wild and free, wild and free,
While to the song with hearts we echo,
So are we, so are we;
O! there is joy in every blossom,
We may share, we may share,
While we adore the hand that made it,
Pure and fair, pure and fair.Refrain
Happy am I, the wind is sighing,
Through the shade, through the shade;
Sweet is my home the daisy murmurs,
In the glade, in the glade;
Thus we can say in days of childhood,
Full of glee, full of glee,
Blending our hearts with nature’s voices,
Blest are we, blest are we.Refrain

[Psa 34:11] Ye Children, Come, Give Ear To Me
Ye children, come, give ear to me
And learn Jehovah’s fear,
He who would long and happy live,
Let him my counsel hear.Restrain thy lips from speaking guile,
From wicked speech depart,
From evil turn and do the good,
Seek peace with all thy heart.Jehovah’s eyes are on the just,
He hearkens to their cry;
Against the wicked sets His face;
Their very name shall die.He hears the righteous when they cry,
From trouble sets them free;
He saves the broken hearted ones
And those who contrite be.The Lord may suffer many griefs
Upon the just to fall,
But He will bring them safely through;
Delivering them from all.By evil are the evil slain,
And they that hate the just;
But all His servants God redeems,
And safe in Him they trust.Play source: Cyberhymnal -
[Psa 34:18] Come Near Me
Come near me, O my Savior;
Thy tenderness reveal;
O, let me know the sympathy
Which Thou for me dost feel;
I need Thee every moment;
Thine absence brings dismay;
But when the tempter hurls his darts,
’Twere death with Thee away.Come near me, my Redeemer,
And never leave my side;
My bark, when tossed on trouble’s sea,
The storm cannot outride
Unless the word of power
Arrest the surging wave;
No voice but Thine its rage can quell,
No arm but Thine can save.Come near me, blessèd Jesus,
I need Thee in my joy;
No less than when the direst ills
My happiness destroy;
For when the sun shines o’er me
And flowers strew the way,
Without Thy wise and guiding hand
More easily I stray.Be near me, mighty Savior,
When comes the latest strife;
For Thou hast thro’ death’s shadows passed,
And oped the gates of life;
And when among the ransomed
I stand with crown and palm,
To Thee, divine, unfailing Friend,
I’ll raise eternal psalm.Play source: Cyberhymnal -
[Psa 34:18] Lord, When We Bend Before Thy Throne
Lord, when we bend before Thy throne,
And our confessions pour,
Teach us to feel the sins we own,
And hate what we deplore.Our broken spirits, pitying see;
When we disclose our wants in prayer,
True penitence impart;
And let a kindling glance from Thee
Beam hope upon the heart.
May we our wills resign;
And not a thought our bosoms share
That is not wholly Thine.Let faith each weak petition fill
And waft it to the skies,
And teach our hearts ’tis goodness still
That grants it, or denies.When our responsive tongues essay
Their grateful hymns to raise,
Grant that our souls may join the lay
And mount to Thee in praise.Then on Thy glories, while we dwell,
Thy mercies we’ll renew,
Till love divine transported tell
Our God’s our Father, too.Play source: Cyberhymnal -
[Psa 34:18] With Broken Heart And Contrite Sigh
With broken heart and contrite sigh,
A trembling sinner, Lord, I cry;
Thy pard’ning grace is rich and free:
O God, be merciful to me.I smite upon my troubled breast,
With deep and conscious guilt oppressed,
Christ and His cross my only plea:
O God, be merciful to me.Far off I stand with tearful eyes,
Nor dare uplift them to the skies;
But Thou dost all my anguish see:
O God, be merciful to me.Nor alms, nor deeds that I have done,
Can for a single sin atone;
To Calvary alone I flee:
O God, be merciful to me.And when, redeemed from sin and hell,
With all the ransomed throng I dwell,
My raptured song shall ever be,
God has been merciful to me.Play source: Cyberhymnal -
[Psa 34:19] I Asked The Lord That I Might Grow
I asked the Lord that I might grow
In faith, and love, and every grace;
Might more of His salvation know,
And seek, more earnestly, His face.’Twas He who taught me thus to pray,
And He, I trust, has answered prayer!
But it has been in such a way,
As almost drove me to despair.I hoped that in some favored hour,
At once He’d answer my request;
And by His love’s constraining pow’r,
Subdue my sins, and give me rest.Instead of this, He made me feel
The hidden evils of my heart;
And let the angry pow’rs of hell
Assault my soul in every part.Yea more, with His own hand He seemed
Intent to aggravate my woe;
Crossed all the fair designs I schemed,
Blasted my gourds, and laid me low.Lord, why is this, I trembling cried,
Wilt thou pursue thy worm to death?
“’Tis in this way, the Lord replied,
I answer prayer for grace and faith.These inward trials I employ,
From self, and pride, to set thee free;
And break thy schemes of earthly joy,
That thou may’st find thy all in Me.”Play source: Cyberhymnal -
[Psa 34:22] What Is The Thing Of Greatest Price?
What is the thing of greatest price,
The whole creation round?
That which was lost in Paradise,
That which in Christ is found:The soul of man, Jehovah’s breath,
That keeps two worlds at strife:
Hell moves beneath to work its death,
Heav’n stoops to give it life.God, to reclaim it, did not spare
His well-belovèd Son;
Jesus, to save it, deigned to bear
The sins of all in one.The Holy Spirit sealed the plan,
And pledged the blood divine,
To ransom every soul of man;
That price was paid for mine.And is this treasure borne below,
In earthen vessels frail?
Can none its utmost value know,
Till flesh and spirit fail?Then let us gather round the cross,
That knowledge to obtain;
Not by the soul’s eternal loss;
But everlasting gain.Play source: Cyberhymnal
